The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko said that the Ministry of Social Policy has decided to substantially increase pensions for Chernobyl victims beginning on 1 July 1 2019.
“On July 1, the pensions will be recalculated, their amount depends on the subsistence minimum, and pension payments to Chernobyl residents will increase significantly”, Rozenko said.
As reported on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers, “the government is implementing another pension program regarding pensions for those with a long insurance period, but who retired with small salaries.”
“The cost of living for disabled people since July 1 is 1564 hryvnia. That is, the minimum pension and payments to those whose payments depend on the subsistence minimum will be increased. We also decided to substantially increase pensions for Chernobyl victims starting from July 1 2019”, Rozenko highlighted.
As it is known, in 2020 another pension increase for military pensioners will take place, and on March 1, 2020, the automatic recalculation of pensions will be implemented for all categories of citizens.
As reported by The Journalist, according to Groisman, recalculation of pensions on July 1 is the next step in changing pension system.
