The leader of the “Samopomich” Union political party, the mayor of Lviv, Andrii Sadovy, after losing the parliamentary elections, announced his intention to leave the post of the head of the political force.
Sadovy reported this on the “Country Choice” TSN TV marathon on the “1 + 1” channel, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“Look, you cannot be both the mayor and the party leader. It is very difficult, I saw it during these 5 years. I am the mayor of Lviv. I think that there is such a normal democratic principle – if you did not lead the party to victory, then you must resign, and the party must choose a new leader,” Sadovy said.
Answering the question of whom he sees as his successor as party leader, Sadovy replied: “We have a lot of good people, and I think they are worthy people.”
At the same time, Sadovy added that he would remain a member of “Samopomich” party.
As The Journalist reported, Lviv deputies plan to dismiss Andrii Sadoviy from mayor post.
