Advisor to the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, has met with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, and presented a digital action plan.
This was reported by the presidential press service.
“The development of the digital economy should be the TOP priority for Ukraine. We must implement a digital transformation of existing sectors of the economy and create favorable conditions for the emergence of new ones. Otherwise, we risk lagging behind the world leading economies forever. Together with the core business and the public, we have defined clear objectives and goals until 2024,” Fedorov said.
To the presidential adviser, “the administration is interested in attracting the capabilities of members of the American Chamber of Commerce to the development of joint projects in the field of broadband Internet, electronic identification, etc.”
During the meeting, representatives of American business focused on problematic issues of work in Ukraine, in particular searches in IT companies, taxation of the IT industry and access to infrastructure to accommodate telecommunications equipment providers, as well as key interests in the development of mobile and fixed broadband Internet, electronic court and the adoption of priority bills required for the IT industry.
In addition, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree “On Some Measures to Improve the Access of Individuals and Legal Entities to Electronic Services”, aimed at streamlining and ensuring the transparency of state registries, developing modern electronic identification tools and introducing priority electronic public services for citizens and businesses.
The document provides for the immediate conduct of a full audit of the work of state registers.
“There are more than 350 state registries in Ukraine, most of which operate completely inefficiently and opaquely. This is the main cause of raiding, corruption and other schemes in the provision of various public services, for example, in the construction or land sectors,” Fedorov said.
At the same time, the presidential decree provides for the introduction of a single web portal of electronic services, where Ukrainians will be able to get access to information about themselves in state registries and priority electronic public services through the electronic cabinet.
In accordance with the decree, will be started the work on holding an electronic election and an electronic census of the population in Ukraine.
As The Journalist reported, Estonia will help Ukraine to transfer public services into electronic format to work online.
