The Artemivsk Interdistrict Court (Donetsk Oblast) ruled to sentenced the resident of Makiivka, who participated in unlawful activities of illegal armed formations of the DPR terrorist organization, to 10 years in prison. This was reported by the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Donetsk Oblast.
In 2014, the 23-year-old local resident joined the Kalmius artillery brigade of the so-called “DPR Defence Ministry”, as a mechanic driver and commander of a BM21 “Hrad” multiple rocket launcher.
“Being armed with a AK assault rifle, he participated in armed confrontations with Ukrainian defenders, in particular, near Donetsk, Snizhne, Horlivka, as well as in Novoazovsk and Shakhtarsk districts,” the message says.
During the court hearings, the defendant did not plead guilty to the crime. However, the court determined the arguments of the prosecution to be exhaustive and well-founded, and for committing a particularly serious crime against state, sentenced the man to 10 years in prison, with confiscation of property.
