Presidential adviser Volodymyr Zelensky on legal issues Andrii Bohdan said that Verkhovna Rada of the 8th convocation, after the decree on the early termination of its powers, will be able to act and pass laws.
Bohdan said this after the completion of Zelensky’s consultations with the leaders of factions and parliamentary groups on the dissolution of parliament, UNIAN reports.
Answering the question whether Verkhovna Rada will be able to pass laws in the event of its dissolution, he replied: “We believe, and this is stipulated by the Constitution, that VR will be empowered to the newly elected parliament from the moment the oath is taken, so Verkhovna Rada will act and consider laws”.
“Another question is the turnout of deputies and the fulfillment of their deputy powers,” the adviser added.
