President Donald Trump plans to nominate acting Defense Secretary Pat Shanahan to be the Pentagon’s permanent chief, after the resignation of James Mattis, the press secretary of the White House, Sarah Sanders reported on Twitter.
Sanders stressed that the President of the United States supported the candidacy of Shanahan for his outstanding service to the country and the ability to manage, which he demonstrated.
She also said that Shanahan has a master’s degree in engineering and a master’s degree in business administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
