EU will suspend visa-free for the countries of the Western Balkans and Latin America

The European Union threatens to stop visa-free due to the growing number of asylum-seekers; in particular, this applies to the countries of the Western Balkans and Latin America, as DW reports.

“Our message to states whose citizens have the right to enter the EU without a visa is unambiguous: your responsibility is to protect this privilege,” said Dimitris Avramopoulos, European Commissioner for Migration.

However, they hope that such extreme measures will be avoided.

It is known that since the beginning of the year about 32,400 applicants for asylum were recorded.
