The European Parliament approved an agreement on visa facilitation between the EU and Belarus, DW reports.
A simplified procedure for issuing visas was backed by 635 European deputies, with 48 against, four abstained.
The agreement provides for bilateral facilitation of procedures for most citizens and the cost of visa for Belarusians will drop from EUR 80 to EUR 35 while the decision to issue a visa or not will be made within ten days (30 days if additional background checks are required).
Apart from that, the list of justifications for issuing free visas for non-commercial purposes will be expanded.
