The international rating agency Fitch Ratings predicts that Ukraine will receive USD 0.7 billion IMF tranche under the Stand-By program by the end of the year. Another USD 1.2 billion tranche is expected in 2021.

To forecast, continued cooperation with the IMF is vital for Ukraine in order to maintain access to external financing. However, implementing the IMF’s SBA program poses significant risks to Ukraine.

In this context, the poor reputation of Ukraine in previous programs and potential court decisions and legislative initiatives that lead to the cancellation of reforms was taken into account.

Ukraine satisfied almost 68% of its budget financing needs for 2020 in the amount of USD 23.5 billion.
