The decision of the Russian authorities to issue passports of the Russian Federation to the citizens of Ukraine in the occupied Donbas contradicts the Minsk agreements.
This was stated by French Ambassador to Ukraine, Isabelle Dumont, on Twitter:
“We condemn the decision of Russia on a simplified procedure for acquiring citizenship of the Russian Federation by residents of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. This decision is contrary to the Minsk agreements and does not contribute to efforts to resolve conflict.”
As The Journalist reported, Klimkin said that issuance of Russian passports in occupied Ukrainian territories is continuation of aggression.
