According to Germany’s largest market research institute (GfK) located in Nuremberg, last week, sales of packaged soup rose by 112%, canned fish and vegetables by 70%, and pasta – 80%.
The volume of food retail in the Federal Republic of Germany grew by 14% in general over the week.
“We usually don’t see such growth,” GfK expert Robert Kechkes said.
