New helicopter Sikorsky HH-60W, or CRH (Combat Rescue Helicopter), designed for the US Air Force, and made its first flight at Sikorsky company airport in West Palm Beach, Florida. About this reports TheDrive.
The report notes that the Sikorsky HH-60W helicopter will replace the outdated HH-60G Pave Hawk model in the US Air Force, which has been on the balance sheet of the US military since 1982.
“The first flight of the HH-60W lasted just over an hour. The tests included freezing and maneuvering at low speed,” the report says.
The company Lockheed Martin, which now owns Sikorsky, said that after testing this summer, the new helicopter will gradually replace the previous models.
It is known that the new helicopter is equipped in the nose with radar, electro-optical and infrared cameras, as well as a new version of the radar radiation detection system AN / APR-52. In addition, the car received special shockproof seats for the crew and passengers, as well as new, larger fuel tanks.
Earlier, the “Journalist” reported that the Ukrainian An-124 transported Black Hawk helicopters from the United States to Afghanistan.
