Iran sent a flight recorder from the Ukrainian UIA passenger plane shot down on January 8 to France for further analysis.
This was reported by the Associated Press.
Tehran’s military prosecutor, Gholamabbas Torki, indicated that the sent recorder was “seriously damaged” and need “sophisticated” technical equipment to be decrypted.
The agency notes that Iranian experts were unable to obtain the necessary convertor due to current US sanctions.
Earlier, The French Bureau of Inquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety reported that the technical work on the decryption of the entries from the black box will begin on July 20.
