The first president of Ukraine, Leonid Kravchuk, believes that the concentration of power in one hand in Ukraine can lead to autocracy. He announced this on the Priamy TV channel.

“I believe that a single-party system with the centralization of power — presidential, parliamentary, and the government — can create conditions in which actions become possible without taking into account the interests of the entire Ukrainian people. This can lead to autocracy or to its elements,” Kravchuk said.

The former president also noted that the Ukrainian government should always have a strong opposition with at least two political forces in it.

As The Journalist reported, Kravchuk noted that Saakashvili will benefit Ukraine, but “there is one moment”.
