Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine Oleksiy Orzhel said that the Gazprom’s proposal to Naftogaz regarding gas transit through Ukraine from January 2020 is unacceptable to Ukraine.
The Minister noted that Russia offer an annual contract in exchange for complete rejection of the won arbitrations.
“An offer that was made by Russia – to waive arbitration proceedings and sign a one-year agreement on the use of the Ukrainian GTS,” said Orzhel on Freedom of Speech panel show.
At the same time, the minister hopes that the parties will agree on gas transit after 2020.
“I hope that we will find the possibility of a constructive dialogue with the Russian side,” Orzhel said.
