Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal said that the government will set another KPIs (key performance indicators, English) for Ukrainian diplomats – promoting Ukrainian exports, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“We are working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to slightly change the direction of the diplomatic service of Ukraine abroad. As part of reform, we will focus our diplomats on promoting Ukrainian exports. Promotion of Ukrainian exports to global markets will become one of the KPI for Ukrainian diplomats. Attracting investment in the country may become another KPI. Export from Ukraine, investments to Ukraine; and regarding import … well, it will be pretty handled by the efforts of foreign diplomats,” the head of government noted.льства.
Commenting on investments coming from the country, Shmygal emphasized that under existing conditions he would “localize and engage in economic and investment nationalism, in the good sense of the word” and would more likely to invest in Ukraine.
He is convinced that the country has very good fields for investment, as well as a good margin in certain sectors in terms of economic opportunities.
“Therefore, you need to invest at home, develop local production, improve quality and then go global,” Shmygal believes.
