Former President of Ukraine, leader of the European Solidarity parliamentary party Petro Poroshenko says he is not involved in the formation and setting of the so-called “Rotterdam +” formula, which overestimated the cost of coal in electricity tariffs.

Poroshenko said this on the Channel 5 television.

“I have nothing to do with this formula. I had never seen it before it was introduced to the market, before it became a matter for public discussion,” the former president emphasized.

According to Poroshenko, if the excessive price of energy tariffs were resulted by applying the “Rotterdam +” formula, they would have decreased after the formula was canceled.

“No formula had existed before, and the price had been set manually. And I believe any formula is better than manually opaque price setting … And what we see now: ‘Rotterdam’ has been canceled, and it turned out that if there had been too high price, it should have fallen by 10 % or 15% due to principle of market pricing. After the cancellation of ‘Rotterdam’, the price has increased,” Poroshenko said.

As The Journalist reported, head of NERC convinced that Ukrainians did not suffer economic loss from «Rotterdam +» formula.
