The current president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, signed a decree on preparing for the launch of fifth generation of mobile telecommunications technology (5G) in 2020, Pryamyi reports.
“Understanding that the 5th generation of communications in 2020 will work in most EU countries, now it works in the United States and China, we are not going to lag behind. And today I want to sign a decree that clearly define the schedule that will allow us to launch the 5th generation of communications in 2020. This is also a plan for the withdrawal of frequencies, work coordinated with the government, and the necessary legislative initiatives of the Verkhovna Rada,” the president said.
Poroshenko also added that 5G is interactive television, Video on Demand, improving of the quality of management, this is a new job on the attractiveness of the IT sector in Ukraine.
