Research: Ukraine shows worst purchasing power in Europe

According to the “GfK Purchaseing Power Europe 2019” study, Ukraine have the lowest purchasing power among 42 countries in Europe.

Europeans have an average of EUR 14,739 per person available for spending and saving in 2019. Ukrainians have an average amount of EUR 1,830, which is eight times less than the European average.

Liechtenstein ranks first again with a per capita purchasing power of EUR 67,550. This is more than 4.5 times the European average. With EUR 42,067 per person, Switzerland ranks second, as was the case last year. Luxembourg makes it into the top three this year with a per capita purchasing power of EUR 35,096, ousting Iceland from third to fourth place.
