Operatives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) foiled a preparation of a terrorist attack on one of the Ukrainian arsenals by the special services of the Russian Federation. It is reported by the press center of the SBU on its official Facebook page.

It became known that at the beginning of 2019, representatives of the special services of the Russian Federation recruited an arsenal officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, threatening to hurt his family. As a result, an arsenal worker began collecting and handing over information about the military facility.

“The aggressor state planned to use this information to carry out an act of sabotage at the strategic military facility to undermine Ukraine’s defense capability,” the report says.

For the fulfillment of tasks, an employee of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was promised material assistance and Russian citizenship, along with a pension.

The SBU managed to prevent the Ukrainian citizen from being engaged in illegal activities to the detriment of Ukraine’s national interests.
