SBU will look into Canada-based IMAX film company operations in occupied Crimea

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) checks the information on the operations of a Canada-based IMAX film corporation and other Western film industry representations in the Russian-annexed Crimea.

This was reported by the SBU, “Krym/Realii informs.

“After the information is checked and if grounds are found, the SBU will take legal action,” the department said.

At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada said that they were also familiar with the situation and would report on their position in the near future.

The Saturn-IMAX cinema continues to operate in the city of Yalta where foreign films are shown in ІMAX format, despite the sanctions regime. In this and other cinemas of the peninsula, Western novelties in Russian dubbing are being demonstrated.

The Canadian Embassy in Ukraine stated that the possible activities of IMAX in Yalta would be checked by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Canadian Customs.
