State Emergency Service: Over 100 settlements de-energized, 550 houses flooded in Ukraine

Some 103 settlements in Ukraine were left without power as a result of the complication of weather conditions. This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service.

According to rescuers, 103 settlements in four regions, namely, Sumy (60), Kyiv (21), Chernihiv (20) and Ivano-Frankivsk (2) were de-energized.

Regional energy distribution companies deployed their repair teams to tackle blackouts.

The works on eliminating consequences of flood are carried out in the western Ukraine, namely in Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Lviv and Ternopil regions.

Some 550 houses were flooded, namely in Ivano-Frankivsk region (267), Chernivtsi (163), and Ternopil (120).

“At least 150.5 km of roads were destroyed (there were 278.2 km) in Ivano-Frankivsk (149), Chernivtsi (1.4), Lviv (0.08); 83 bridges were destroyed (there were 95) in Ivano-Frankivsk (81), Lviv (1) and Chernivtsi (1); 582 km of roads (were 653 km) and 220 bridges (265) in Ivano-Frankivsk (541 km of roads and 206 bridges), Lviv (0.2 km of roads), Chernivtsi (40.8 km of roads and 14 bridges),” rescuers report.

774 people and 291 units of equipment are working to eliminate the consequences of the weather.
