Team Zelensky developed a bill that should resume criminal responsibility for illegal enrichment.
According to the press service of Volodymyr Zelensky, he said this at a meeting with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius.
Linkevičius congratulated Zelensky on his victory and offered assistance in implementing reforms in Ukraine in the anti-corruption and law enforcement areas.
“Wherever we could contribute and be useful, you can rely on us,” the minister assured.
Linkevičius reported European structures in Brussels are greatly interested in the newly elected president and offer him to attend international events at EU level as soon as possible.
The minister stressed that the Western Europe is especially attentive to the fight against corruption in Ukraine.
“The abolition of criminal liability for illegal enrichment is contrary to the obligations of Ukraine to the European Union,” said Linkevičius.
At the same time, Zelensky told the minister that “his team has developed a corresponding bill that will resume criminal responsibility for illegal enrichment.”
As The Journalist reported, Ukraine is counting on increased sanctions pressure on Russia in connection with Putin’s decree on citizenship rule change.
