Ukraine asks World Bank for USD 350M loan

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Yermak, in a phone conversation with the Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia, Anna Bjerde, discussed the provision of USD 350 million loan to Ukraine as part of the “First Development Policy Development Loan”, the President’s Office reports.

“This loan will be aimed at supporting reforms that are critical for economic recovery, and should help Ukraine to mitigate the consequences of coronavirus pandemic,” the report reads.

Yermak and Bjerde also discussed the progress of land reform in Ukraine and corporate governance reform. Separately, the parties focused on measures necessary to ensure macroeconomic stability.
