Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Jacek Czaputowich have officially opened the new premises of the Ukrainian Embassy in the Republic of Poland in Warsaw on July 27.

The new building is located in one of the most prestigious districts of Warsaw.

“This room is amazing. From the very entrance it shows Ukraine exactly as we want to be seen abroad. Modern, comfortable, elegant, and full of meaning. This building symbolizes the Ukraine we are building,” Kuleba said at the opening ceremony.

The Minister especially noted the fact that the consular section of the embassy will be the first to start working in the new building. According to him, the protection of the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens who live, stay and study in Poland is among the most important priorities of the ministries.

“We also want and currently working on to make the new building a kind of cultural and information center and an additional platform for events, meetings of representatives of the Ukrainian community and business,” he added.

The Minister expressed special gratitude to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland Andriy Deshchitsa for bringing this important project to completion.

Ukraine acquired back real estate in Warsaw, where the new premises of the embassy are now located, in 2011. The renovation work began in January 2012, but in April 2013 they had to be suspended due to lack of funding.

Construction resumed in September 2019, and already in May of this year, the Polish side provided an official permission to put the building into operation.
