Verkhovna Rada ratifies important agreements with Turkey, Singapore and Brazil

The Verkhovna Rada has ratified an agreement on development cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Turkey.

Some 335 deputies voted for the adoption of the bill.

The law implements the provisions of the agreement and creates the organizational and legal basis for development of cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey.

“The bill will facilitate the implementation of projects (programs) of technical and financial cooperation aimed at supporting sustainable development and interaction in providing humanitarian assistance,” the document emphasizes.

The parliament also ratified amendments to the agreement between the government of Ukraine and the government of the Republic of Singapore on avoiding double taxation and preventing tax evasion regarding income taxes.

Some 328 deputies voted for the adoption of the relevant bill.

The protocol was concluded due to the fact that during the negotiations with the Singapore side, were agreed amendments needed to be made to the agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Singapore on avoiding double taxation and preventing tax evasion regarding income taxes.

In addition, Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law of Ukraine “On Ratification of the Treaty between Ukraine and the Federal Republic of Brazil on Mutual Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil Matters”.

Some 332 deputies of Ukraine voted for the decision.

Ratification of the agreement provides for the creation of an effective mechanism for cooperation between the competent authorities of the two countries in resolving civil, commercial and administrative cases in order to protect the rights and interests of citizens of Ukraine in Brazil, as well as establishing obligations of the parties for mutual recognition and enforcement of court decisions in such cases .
