The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus during a press conference in Geneva has said that a universal coronavirus vaccine might never be.

According to the head of WHO, a number of vaccines are currently in the phase three clinical trials, and expressed hope that at least a few of them will be effective.

“We all hope to have some effective vaccines that can help prevent people from infection. However, there is no silver bullet at the moment and it might never be,” Mr. Ghebreyesus said.

WHO Chief also called on countries and governments to adhere to measures to counter the coronavirus pandemic, namely to wear face masks, maintain social distance and hygiene.

According to him, wearing face masks should become a symbol of solidarity around the world.
